The "Monitor Performance" section in the Keywords tab is the best place to track your app's organic visibility over time.

We discuss how to monitor your installs and impressions over time in this article. Let's dive here into a different concept: the visibility score.

❗️ This section is based on the keyword list that you are currently viewing - you won't be able to see the progression of any keyword not included in your list. Learn how to monitor all your ranked keywords here.

Visibility Score

In the "Visibility score" chart, you can check the evolution of your app's visibility score and your ranking history compared to competitors.

The Visibility Score graph shows the progression of your app’s visibility in the store compared to your competitors. No numbers are displayed here - this graph helps you understand your ASO performance (and your competitors’) on the keywords you followed, over time, through trending curves.

To calculate this score, we take into account:

  • The app's overall rankings for all the keywords in the given list.

  • The keywords' volumes.

If our algorithm notices an increase in rankings on popular keywords, your Keywords Visibility Score will increase, as your app will be more visible on the store.

The Visibility Score for your main app will always begin at 0%, determined by the start date you’ve selected within the specified date range. For example, if your chosen start date in the selected date range is January 15, 2024, the Visibility Score will initiate at 0% from January 15, 2024. You can then track your Visibility progression and compare it with your competitors over time.

💡 Expert tip: Monitor visibility for all ranked keywords

In the Keyword Table, the Visibility History graph allows you to monitor & compare your app's visibility for a selected keyword list.

Total keywords

With this chart, you can track the evolution of the number of keywords your app is ranking for over time. Use the breakdown options to analyze keyword distribution by rank, search volume, and type (brand vs. generic).

This feature is particularly useful for measuring the impact of recent metadata updates—check if your app is now ranking for more keywords!

Impressions History

While your visibility score provides insights into overall trends in your app's visibility based on a keyword list, the impressions chart offers a daily estimate of the views (impressions) your app receives from those same keywords.

⚠️ Important Note: A shift in your app's visibility score might not directly influence its impressions. This is because the visibility score considers rankings beyond the top 25, while we estimate that an app ranking below the top 25 doesn't drive any impressions from that keyword. For example, if your app goes from ranking #50 to #35 on a specific keyword, you would see an increase in the visibility score, but this wouldn't increase impressions.

Our Impressions estimates are computed based on 3 criteria:

  • Volume (search popularity) of the keyword,

  • Your app's ranking on the keyword,

  • Whether the keyword is branded or generic.

Overview of Ranked Keywords & Key Metrics

Scrolling down the page, you can find some key metrics related to your keyword list and your app performance growth on those keywords. Ultimately, we provide you as well with a keyword table that shows the evolution of:

  • Keywords' volume;

  • App rankings on those keywords;

  • App estimated installs on those keywords.

Here, you can compare organic installs growth with competitors or dig deeper and uncover which keywords the selected app gained or lost the most organic installs for.

You first need to pick two dates, which will be used to calculate the growth.

❗️ Growth is computed as follows: Number of Installs on Day 2 - Number of Installs on Day 1. This growth compares two days, and is not the average of installs computed over the chosen period.
