Users are increasingly asking ChatGPT directly for app suggestions instead of browsing the app store.
AI Visibility is the first AI search platform built for mobile app discovery. In one place, you can finally understand whether your app is being recommended in ChatGPT, and for which user needs (intents).
How it works
Unlike other AI visibility tools that start with your website domain, AppTweak's AI Visibility starts by identifying the intents that drive app discovery across categories.
π‘ Intents are the specific goals users have when searching for an app. They are derived from how real apps position themselves in the app stores (not from your brand or website), which means they reflect a full range of reasons users search for apps.
For each intent, AppTweak then generates multiple prompts - ways users can express that intent when searching for an app in ChatGPT.
AppTweak currently tracks over 10,000 prompts across thousands of intents, with aggregated prompt data refreshed weekly.

How to use AI Visibility in AppTweak
Your AI Visibility Overview
When you open AI Visibility, you first get a clear understanding of your visibility with two high-level KPIs:
AI Visibility Score (0β100) β a benchmark showing how visible your app is in AI-generated answers. The score reflects both how often and how prominently your app is mentioned compared to all other apps in AppTweak.
Sentiment Score β a measure of how positively your app is described when it is mentioned. When AI recommends your app, it often includes commentary (praising specific features, noting limitations, or positioning it relative to competitors). The Sentiment Score captures the average tone of those mentions, helping you understand not just whether your app is recommended, but how it's being characterized.
Your intent performance
Below the overview KPIs, you'll find a table of all the intents your app appears on.
This is an aggregation of all data collected since April 1st. Each intent groups a set of prompts AppTweak tracks - your app won't necessarily appear on every prompt within an intent.
The table includes four columns:
Intent Visibility β the percentage of prompts for a given intent where your app is mentioned. A score of 60% means your app appeared in 60% of the prompts tracked for that intent. This is the primary metric for understanding how consistently your app is being recommended for a specific user need.
Sentiment β how positively your app is described across the prompts for this intent. See the Sentiment Score definition above.
Position β a weighted measure of how well your app performs for this intent. Apps that are mentioned frequently and ranked highest will have the #1 position.
Top Apps β the apps with the highest positions in AI answers for this intent (based on the Position metric).
See all AI answers directly from ChatGPT
Click into any intent to see the prompts used and the latest AI answer for each one. This reflects the most recent data collected (while the intent KPIs show an aggregated view over time).
A green dot indicates prompts where your app has been mentioned. Note that your app may have appeared for a prompt in the past, but not in the most recent response.
To view the latest raw response from ChatGPT, click the text icon next to a prompt. This opens a pop-up with the full response. By default you'll see the most recent answer - and you can use the bottom-left button to view earlier responses.
Compare your app's AI visibility to competitors
Add competitors to your app to unlock the full competitive view. Once added, you'll see all the intents those competitors appear on alongside yours, with side-by-side metrics for each.
Use the filters above the table to quickly identify:
Opportunities β intents where at least one competitor appears but your app does not
Shared β intents where both your app and competitors appear
Unique β intents where only your app appears
Position Map
With the Position Map, you can take a step back to see how your app is positioned versus competitors across two dimensions:
X-axis: Intent Visibility β how often the app appears across all tracked prompts for a specific intent. Higher means more frequently recommended.
Y-axis: Sentiment Score β how positively the app is described in ChatGPT responses. Higher means more favorable positioning.
Together, these dimensions help you quickly identify which apps are both highly visible and positively perceived, and where your app stands relative to them.
You can explore the map from two angles:
By Intent β see how competitive each intent is and which apps dominate it. Useful for identifying where competitors are better aligned with user expectations.
By App β see how your app performs across all the intents it appears on. Useful for identifying your strongest positioning areas.
Note: Data frequency
All views are based on aggregated data collected since the feature launched, giving you a reliable picture of your app's overall visibility over time rather than a single snapshot. Each prompt is refreshed at least once every 10 days.
