Follow these steps to link your App Store Connect account with AppTweak using the App-Specific Password. This will allow you to see your apps’ real data in AppTweak and analyze the impact of your ASO efforts.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure the email used has access to "App Analytics" in App Store Connect. Roles that have access include Admin, Finance, or Sales.

  • If you only want to integrate specific apps (not all of them), provide an email with a Sales role limited to those apps.

  • If you have many apps, we recommend only selecting the apps that you would like to connect to AppTweak (max 70) per integration to avoid syncing delays.

Important limitations:

  • Integrations with app-specific passwords are not supported for organizational Apple accounts. Only individual Apple accounts can use app-specific passwords for App Store Connect integrations.

  • Apple Business Manager accounts are also not supported, as they are managed organizational accounts with restrictions on app-specific passwords.

  • Single Sign-On (SSO) is not supported for connecting to the App Store Connect integration.

Steps to Connect with an App-Specific Password

Watch this video or follow the steps below:

1. On your ASO dashboard, click "Connect my apps".

2. Select the App Store Connect integration and click "Connect Account".

3. Enter the email of your Apple account, paste your App-Specific Password, and click "Connect".

Note: After adding the integration, it may take 24 to 48 hours for your data to appear in the Analytics tab. The exact timing depends on the number of apps you integrate. For example, if you integrate around 70 apps at once, the process may take more than 48 hours.

Steps to Connect if you don't have an App-Specific Password yet

1. On your ASO dashboard, click "Connect my apps".

2. Select the App Store Connect integration and click "Connect Account".

1. In a new tab, sign into your Apple ID management page (not App Store Connect)

2. Click the “App-Specific Passwords" section

3a. If you have never created an app-specific password before, click "Generate an app-specific password" in the pop-up

3b. If you have created an app-specific password before, click the "+" sign in the pop-up

4. Enter "AppTweak" as the label for this app-specific password and click "Create"

5. Confirm your password when prompted

6. ⚠️ The next pop-up will have your app-specific password. Copy and paste it as you will only have access to it once.

7. Go back to AppTweak. Enter the email of your Apple account, paste your App-Specific Password, and click "Connect".

4. We have successfully connected your account

Note: After you add the integration, it can take 24 to 48 hours for your data to appear on your account in the Analytics tab.

Still want to use 2FA authentification?

  • Instead of the app-specific password, click on “Switch to 2FA Authentification”

  • Enter the email and password of your Apple account and click "Connect".

  • You should receive an SMS or push notification on your Apple device with a 6-digit code to verify your identity. Paste this code in AppTweak and click "Validate".

⚠️ If you didn't receive the code or the code you received is invalid, click "Send a new text" to try again.

6. We have successfully connected your account

Note: After you add the integration, it can take 24 to 48 hours for your data to appear on your account in the Analytics tab.

Re-authenticating your Apple Account after 30 days

The connection with Apple via Two-Factor Authentication is valid for 30 days. You will need to re-verify your account every month if you want AppTweak to still have access to your Apple console.

How to re-authenticate your Apple account

Go to My Account > Integrations and click the “reverify” link that will automatically appear next to expired integrations. You will then need to go through the verification process again (see above).

Why can't I see my integration data in AppTweak?

There are multiple reasons why you might not see your integration data in AppTweak:

  • If you've recently established the integration, it might take up to 24-48 hours for AppTweak to fully fetch all the data and display it in the tool. Go to My Account > Integrations to make sure you have successfully connected your account, then check back in 24 hours.

  • Each user has their own individual dashboard. Therefore, if your colleague integrates a console, it will only show on their dashboard. Every user has to integrate the App Store Connect individually.

  • The verification code provided by Apple is only valid for 30 days. Therefore, you need to re-verify your account every 30 days. To re-verify your account, navigate to My Account > Integrations and click the “reverify” link that will automatically appear next to the expired integrations.
